Graduates understand the science of reading and structured literacy, they recognize and gain proficiency in the use of high-quality instructional intervention materials, and they demonstrate skill in data-based decision making.

Not only designed to provide in-service teachers with the theoretical and pedagogical development to support students with reading difficulties, this program also allows teachers to pursue an optional RIDE-approved Literacy/Dyslexia Endorsement.

The Literacy/Dyslexia Endorsement is completed by taking three specific continuing education courses within the Reading MED curriculum. These courses are designed for educators who need to show proficiency in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. The training is rigorous and includes applying what is learned in the classroom. After successfully completing the approved pathway through ӣƵ, educators will receive a certificate of completion and can apply to add a Literacy/Dyslexia Endorsement to their teaching certificate for free through RIDE.
