What is the Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA)?
The JAA is an agreement between Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ and the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) that allows CCRI students to easily transfer to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ.
Students can begin working toward one of many possible bachelor's degrees at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ while earning their associates degree at CCRI. Although it's common for students to transfer from CCRI to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ, the purpose of the JAA is to facilitate the transition from the associates degree at CCRI to the bachelor's degree at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ.
Why Should I Participate?
If you enroll in the Joint Admissions Agreement between CCRI and Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ, and complete an associates degree from an approved CCRI program, you'll receive:
- conditional acceptance to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ
- a waived Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ application fee
- up to 30% tuition reduction based on CCRI GPA
- one-on-one advising at both CCRI and Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ
- the help needed for a stress-free transfer to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ as a junior in the major you've specified
Am I Eligible?
You are eligible to apply if you have earned fewer than 30 credits at CCRI and have never attended another college or university. In order to make the transition from CCRI to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ you need to have:
- completed your approved associates degree at CCRI with a cumulative GPA of 2.4 or higher
- submitted the intent to enroll form to Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ
- met all academic and non academic requirements for enrollment at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ
Our transfer admissions team will work directly with CCRI to request your official transcript. You do not need to request your own CCRI transcript.
How Can I Apply?
If you have already decided on the major you'd like to pursue and are ready to apply to the CCRI/Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ JAA, you can do so today on CCRI's website. If you'd like to find out more about the program, or to get any of your specific questions answered before applying, the JAA Advising Coordinator at CCRI is ready to help you.
