American Dramatic Soprano, Lori Phillips has performed across the U.S.A. and Canada, in Europe, Japan and Australia. She has specialized in the leading soprano roles of Verdi, Wagner and Puccini, plus the great works of Beethoven, Dukas, Milhaud and Janáček. She is a 2015 Solo Grammy nominated artist for her roles in Milhaud's The Oresteia of Aeschylus (Naxos) and made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2010 as Senta in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer. She was part of the MET's roster for ten years.
Ms. Phillips performed many operatic roles, including the title roles of Turandot and Cio-cio-san in Madam Butterfly, Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer, Brünnhilde in Wagner’s Ring Cycle, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana and Amelia in Ballo in Maschera. These performances were at The Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Seattle Opera, Opera Lyra Ottawa, L’Opera National de Quebec, Atlanta Opera, New York City Opera, Opera National du Rhin, Netherlands Opera, Dallas Opera, among others. She is recipient of a number of awards, Including the Puccini Foundation Award, Tanglewood Music Center Fellowship and a Distinguished Alumni Award from ӣƵ.
